Imphal, Manipur, April 5 (HBTV): Security establishments in Manipur continue to recover arms and ammunitions in the conflict-ridden state. In a major breakthrough, huge quantities of weapons along with ammunitions were recovered from at least three locations on Thursday.            

The weapons were found from two locations in Kangpokpi district and one from Bishnupur district.                

Police reports say security forces conducted search operations in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts of Manipur. In the two areas of Kangpokpi district “Singda Dam” and Karam Vaiphei, security forces recovered weapons including an improvised mortar, a carbine machine gun with magazine, a 9 mm pistol with magazine, a 12 bore gun, hand grenades, two 2-inch mortar bombs, live rounds, and twenty-six empty cases.     

No arrest has been made in this connection.
